The Process

Botanical printing, sometimes called ecoprinting, uses heat, moisture, and pressure to coax plant-born elements to naturally exude and make permanent their sublime and subtle beauty. Each unique piece is mordanted to ensure that the colors become one with the fabric and that the natural dyes and prints are light-fast. This intricate process has a multitude of variables and is a combination of art and science that feels like magic!

The Gift

The ancient tradition of honoring our loved ones with gifts of leis, garlands or scarves reaches across many cultures. It is in this spirit that Lauralyn Eschner combines these practices to create shawls, wraps, and scarves, each one of which is a completely unique and irreplaceable “Wild Earth Blessing.”

In addition to her one-of-a-kind wearable works of art, Lauralyn’s creations include images and handmade pieces designed to grace your home with the joy, awe, and beauty of Nature.

The Artist

Lauralyn Eschner spent childhood summers in a makeshift treehouse cradled in the limbs of a magnificent eucalyptus tree. On her back in the filtered sunlight, she loved to lie surrounded by the delicate shapes, colors and textures of the leaves, and was fascinated by their dance of light and shadow. As a lifelong artist, translating what she sees into visual poetry, these cherished memories are the seeds of her current work.
